Michael D. Landau, MD, DABVLM, RPhS…, the driving force behind Vein Care Medical Center, has offices in Miracle Mile District and Walnut, California. Dr. Landau specializes in providing nonsurgical procedures to treat both cosmetic and medically necessary vein problems, including leg ulcers, leg edema, and varicose vein disease.
Dr. Landau offers his services as the sole practitioner and proprietor of Vein Care Medical Center, providing endovenous ablation treatments including AngioDynamics® and VenClose™ approved equipment. He is one of the few experts in venous diseases (Phlebology) who is skilled and versed in the use of duplex ultrasound to better serve his ever-growing patient base.
Dr. Landau earned his Bachelor’s of Art degree in Biology from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1981 and immediately set out for Chicago’s Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, earning his Medical Doctor degree in 1985. It’s been nonstop for Dr. Landau since then. He completed both his internship and his residency in Family Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California from 1985 to 1988. Deciding that he preferred to practice urgent care, he worked at two urgent care facilities from 1988 to 1991. He then affirmed his ongoing commitment to education by completing a specialized Phlebology training program at Vein Clinics of America in Schaumberg, Illinois over a 4 month period during September to December of 1991. He sat for and passed the exam to become a diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM) and the Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS).
Dr. Landau has also donated his time through consistent volunteer work in a variety of fields. Beginning with the Culver City Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Culver City Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CCARES); and, then adding the Culver City Police Department Volunteers In Patrol (VIP). He also serves on the advisory board and is also a member of the volunteer wing of the L.A. County Health Department called the Medical Reserve Corp of Los Angeles (MRC-LA).
Dr. Landau is also a member of several professional associations, including the American Vein & Lymphatic Society–AVLS– (formerly called the American College of Phlebology), the American Medical Association, and the UCLA Alumni Association.
